Bernardo grew up in the Dominican Republic, where his father was a fisherman. He helped his father to sell seafood, as a young man, then went on to study hotel and restaurant administration, in college. After living in Puerto Rico, Bernardo found his way to the Southern Tier, where he gained more experience in restaurant management. After years of planning, dedication, and a passion for hospitality, Bernardo opened El Pulpo Mexican Restaurant and Grill, in June 2018.
